By running commands you find on this website, you accept resposibility for the consequences. If you don't want to risk it, hire a professional.
This site is mostly aimed at computer technicians, people who generally know how things work, how commands can be safely ran without risking hardware, configurations, and data.
Many commands can safely do good things, but if mistyped or typed at the wrong place, they could cause problems, loss of data, or other issues.
We often cite sources of information, you can visit those links to learn more.
This website was created by a computer technician, originally for myself. I originally shared it with a few people, and then more and more. It now has enough users that I am adding some new features.
It is designed for techs to use, contribute, and collaborate. If you have any suggestions, corrections, new ideas, tips, etc, please submit them.
This site is curated, only the owner and a few selected people can edit content directly. This site is not the place to have information that is debatable. We want solid information that is factual and useful.
Information we put out is dense, with little commentary. We work for a living, this has grown into a side hobby.
This is not meant to be an open forum, this site is meant to have distilled information on how to do things, fix problems, and get to the root of the issue.
It is not designed specifically for end users, although we try to explain things in a way that a regular person can understand and utilize it.
We don't (currently) solicit any money directly. We may have affiliate links to certain services or items to purchase, which may earn us a small commission. We will NOT post links to anything that we don't believe are good products or services.
Yes, the HTML code is not very pretty. This is all hand coded using HTML, CSS, PHP, a tiny bit of Javascript, and a MySQL Database. Perhaps some copy and paste from sites like StackOverflow and JSFiddle were also involved... It's designed to be FAST.
