Audacity is a free audio editing tool.
If you are trying to record audio from the speakers, this is a loopback device. This lets you record the sound that the computer is putting out. If it won't record this loopback audio, turn on Device Toolbar ( View --> Toolbars --> Device Toolbar. To record loopback audio, in the Device Toolbar, pick Windows WASAPI, pick a Speakers or other output device in the next option. If when you start recording it doesn't start recording, start playing the sounds and it should start recording. |
