GuideComputer HardwareData Storage - Hard Drives / Solid State Drives (SSD) / Flash Memory Cloning/Imaging Tools Updated December 29 2025
These tools let you clone/image your drive. These are useful when migrating from a Hard Drive HDD to Solid State Drive SSD.

If you have a failing drive with bad blocks, try one of these programs:
AOMEI Backupper Standard

Clonezilla
https://clonezilla.org/

ddrescue - command line, but able to skip bad sectors, (available on many Linux distro's)

The programs before are not as good for drives with bad blocks, but should work great on most drives.

Macrium Reflect Free

EaseUS Todo Backup - Has a free version available

You can clone a Windows drive to a backup file, then apply it to a new drive using this method. This uses DISM to backup your C: to a .wim file, then apply it to a new drive, and also create a new BCD.
